Last week I facilitated a workshop that speak to the power of cultural conditioning in shaping our identity.
I chose this topic because once we awaken to the fact that our lives are lived from the perceptual filter of cultural conditioning, quite literally "everything changes."
What if... who you think you are is not who you actually are?
Each of us has been taught who we should be. We have been taught that we have a personality, that that personality shapes our decisions, and that those decisions are based on who we should be. But what if there’s more to you than your personality? What if your identity is not fixed?
Everything that you’ve believed about yourself up until now — everything that followed a statement of I am — what if that is not fixed?
As a live participant said during the Q&A (not recorded):
"There was no fucking way in hell I could grasp on to that intellectually or even conceptualize the idea that my cultural conditioning was blocking something from emerging that was going to solve all the problems. Because I was doing all the right things."
Are you doing all the right things and still find yourself stuck? If so, take 40 minutes on your commute from work and have a listen.
PS - This comment made my day, because it's true: I deeply care that you know there's a different way to live other than the "normal" you're living now.
If you're curious about what's next for you in your journey of personal evolution, email me to share what you're bumping up against. I'd be happy to help you with your path forward...
