To become a mother is to redefine who you are.

To become more than what your ancestry gave you permission for, you must discover how to individuate and create a life that belongs to you.

In my decade of working with women, I have come to discover that THIS is the toughest thing for us to do. Not because we don't want to or we're not capable, but because the pull of the cultural conditioning is so deep and profound that we don't even know when it is driving the bus of our lives.

Meet Sarah Witherell. A certified CODE Model Coach who became a mother to an eight year old "unapologetically authentic daughter." When I read those words, I teared up. What a beautiful way to know your daughter, especially in a world that is devoted to labels that attempt to make her less than whole.

But Sarah intuitively knew better: her daughter was never “too big” or “too loud” or “too much” despite the behaviours that often rendered her in trouble.

Sarah currently volunteers for the Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint in schools. Can you imagine what prompted her to do so?

Now, Sarah in on a journey to share with the world the truth of her experience of emergence into herSelf and the immense impact THAT perpetual choice has had on the quality of her life, and her daughter's life.

It has been my privilege to work with Sarah and to watch her blossom into the powerhouse that she has now become. She was unwavering in her commitment to evolve, not only for her sake, but for that of her daughter. It's not an easy journey, but it's a deeply rewarding one.

In her first (!!!!!) educational piece for the AASR non-profit, she wrote about the power of discovering our Signals Dancing and what that means when it comes to becoming the safety crucible for our children.

"In the Midst of a Trigger, our Signals Dance: An Adoptive Mother’s Journey"

Coming up, May Community Workshop:

What Mothering Brings to the Surface

A free live conversation about the unresolved parts of ourselves motherhood can awaken — the inherited patterns, emotional triggers, conditioning, and unconscious ways of relating that often emerge through parenting.

This is not about blame. Instead, it's an invitation to become more conscious inside the lives we are shaping alongside our children.

One of the models we’ll explore together is “Icebergs Interacting,” a framework we use inside WEL-Systems® to understand how our behaviours are often driven by unconscious beliefs, conditioning, identity, and unresolved emotional experiences beneath the surface.

Because parenting is not about behaviour, it's about relationships.

It's about two nervous systems, histories, and emotional worlds interacting with one another in real time.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • how mothering brings unresolved parts of ourselves to the surface
  • the unconscious patterns and cultural conditioning that shape the way we relate, react, and parent
  • why parenting triggers often feel bigger than the present moment
  • the hidden emotional dynamics beneath behaviour through the “Icebergs Interacting” model
  • what becomes possible when awareness replaces automatic repetition

If you sense there is something deeper beneath your parenting struggles, reactions, exhaustion, or grief — and you want to explore those patterns with more honesty, awareness, and compassion, join us.
